Ringmaille is started and run by Alex de Jonge in 2007, this means that we are fairly new, but that doesn't mean we only have a little bit of experience.
The name is deprived from the French word “Maille” meaning mesh and of course, ring. My name is Alex de Jonge, I live in the Netherlands, a few of my interests and hobbies are art in general, photography next to chainmaille is my passion, I also listen to a lot of music from all kinds of styles. I am born in Ochten, Gelderland, the Netherlands on the 12th of may 1990. I started making maille not too long ago after I touched it for the first time in my life, I decided to be bold and buy 1000 rings, a small example patch and 2 pliers.. the pliers where worn down within 2 months, and I am still weaving that many hours a day.. so I decided against buying cheap pliers every two months and now I am happily addicted to my chain-nose pliers, they go everywhere with me. You can call me at any time of the day, I will try to answer, if I don't I will call you back as soon as I am available. I strive to reply to all e-mails within a day, but sometimes it can take up to a week. If I am expecting longer delays I will put a notification up on the website.
